A reserve that will be twice the size of Yosemite Park and three times the size of Yellowstone, it will be called Giant Panda National Park and will become the ideal breeding place for pandas, which will live far from man and surrounded by nature.
The park will be built in the provinces of Sichuan, Gansu e Shaanxi in China; right here it is estimated that there are about 2 thousand wild pandas but they live in isolation. Creating a park will allow them to socialize and hopefully reproduce as well.
The loan was actually announced last year, but the Chinese bank only recently signed an agreement with the government to build the park within five years. Even though the giant panda is one step further from extinction, that doesn't mean it's not a vulnerable species.
In recent years, however, it has been shown that the right approach is crucial for conservation. In the decade from 2004 to 2014, the panda population grew by 17%. In 2014 a national census counted 1864 giant pandas in China, a number that shows that when there is collaboration, wildlife can truly be rescued.
