Cherry on the cake? It folds up on itself and is stored in a backpack measuring 45 x 50 x 20 centimeters. In addition, the super seat is mounted in the opposite direction to that of travel and is equipped with a Bluetooth connection for parents truly in step with the times. The Bluetooth connection will allow mum and dad to take advantage of several extra functions, including a command to inflate the seat remotely via an app downloaded to your smartphone. Not only that, but, according to some rumors, one of the functions via Bluetooth could also be that of "alarm“, To avoid forgetting the baby in the car (but for now Volvo hasn't made much known).
The material with which the prototype is made is a military aircraft fabric, called a “drop stitch,” which is typically used in the construction of inflatable airplanes. The choice of fabric allows you to inflate the seat at high pressure, in order to make it more robust and protective for the little ones in the event of a collision.
The new prototype was unveiled to celebrate “Volvo's 50 years of dedication to child safety”. It was in fact 1964 when the first prototype of a child seat was developed by the Swedish company, launching the first car seat three years and later also creating the first rearward facing child seat with ISOFIX fittings.
Perfect then! Are all ready to go around with the little ones in complete safety and comfort? Not really ... the car manufacturer has not yet made it known when the inflatable seat will be on the market.
