Immediate order ordered by the President of the Lazio Region to adopt extraordinary measures:
- establishment of a protection zone with a radius of 3 km from the farm where the outbreak was found
- surveillance zone with a radius of 10 km
Furthermore, as stated on the Lazio Region website:
Entry and exit from a poultry farm, other captive birds or other domestic mammals are not permitted without veterinarian authorization. Anyone entering or leaving a farm must comply with appropriate biosecurity measures, all carcasses of dead birds are immediately destroyed, vehicles and equipment used to transport poultry are subjected to disinfestation procedures without delay, as are all vehicles used by staff. or from other people. The transport of poultry meat, the handling and transport between farms, by road, and the introduction and placing of game are prohibited. Fairs of poultry and other birds are prohibited.
All measures will remain in force for at least 21 days from the time the outbreak is disinfected e all farms must be verified.
