The long-awaited postponement of the sanctions envisaged for those who have not yet equipped themselves with an anti-abandonment seat or similar device in their car has arrived. In fact, they will only start from 6 March 2020, in the meantime even more funds have been allocated for the bonus that will offer help to families for the new purchase.

The House Finance Committee approved an amendment to the tax decree (linked to the 2020 Budget maneuver) which in fact postpones the much feared sanctions for those who have not complied with the entry into force of the new standard that requires children up to 4 years of age to have child seats with anti-abandonment devices in their cars.

After the chaos and controversies that have been unleashed since last November 7 (the day the decree came into force), it was not possible to do otherwise since families were objectively unable to comply. In fact, there is still a lot of confusion about which devices to buy, also considering that most of them would not be up to standard and that there are not enough products on the market for all the families that need them.

Now there is plenty of time to understand each other more and evaluate your purchase well. In fact, fines will not be authorized until March 6, 2020 from that moment on, however, there is a risk of a penalty ranging from 81 to 326 euros plus the deduction of 5 points from the driving license.

Another novelty, which always concerns anti-abandonment devices, is that the same commission in the House has also decided to increase the funds provided for the benefits in the form of a tax credit for those who have to buy the new tools. It goes from 1 to 5 million.

The bonus that can be requested for the purchase remains of 30 € for each child but now more families will be able to use it, even those who have previously purchased it. It will therefore no longer be necessary to travel to request it quickly!
