A bedtime story every evening on WhatsApp: the idea of two teachers to defeat Coronavirus anxiety

The idea of these two Genoese teachers who have decided to dedicate a fairy tale every evening to their little ones via video on WhatsApp.

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

Strange this suspended time of something that hangs over our heads: strange to keep away from people, not to greet them with a kiss, also strange to explain to children what is happening. It is to them that we must dedicate ourselves more, now that we are "forced" at home and the days never end. What can they do in these weeks of forced holidays?

We are inventing them all and welcome every single idea to make them feel less of the weight of concern than us adults.

From stories to audio, from games to workshops put online by two writers up to the volunteers of Born to Read Campania who every day and several times a day are dedicating themselves to reading a live Facebook album with their highly original "Smart stories ”, Up to the idea of these two Genoese teachers who have decided to dedicate a fairy tale every evening via WhatsApp to their little ones.

They are Maura and Paola Griggi, Montessori teachers of Villa Stalder, in Quarto, a Genoese municipal kindergarten, and the concept is simple: take your smartphone and start reading a story.

"We decided to read an illustrated book of goodnight to our children every evening - told the two sisters and teachers in Genoa 24 - by recording a video and sending it to the parents of the school who will snap a chain, we will then ask the children to return a drawing and a reflection inspired by history, their parents will send us all the works with a photograph ".

The first story is already on WhatsApp groups has already started. Maura read "And butterflies do fart?" and the reading was followed by the didactic moment: her sister Paola recorded another video in which she explains to the children the importance of washing their hands well even before going to sleep, and with a small tutorial she explains the essential movements.

Nice idea don't you think? So come on, teachers or not, let's take advantage of this time to invade our homes with picture books and beautiful stories.
