Lately, companies are also starting to tackle the problem by reducing their packaging and turning their products towards biodegradable materials and increasingly responsible packaging. Some of them go even further, making garbage packaging a real source of life. So here are nine biodegradable eco-products that in some way can contribute to making our planet greener.

In our country the problem of municipal solid waste (RSU) has always been a thorny issue, an omnipresent protagonist in the political debate and in the lives of citizens. The reasons as you know are many and range from our lack of civic sense, to the political exploitation of the problem, passing through the interests of a few who are convenient to dispose of in landfills. Finally I believe that the average citizen associates with the word I decline exclusively the idea of something that is no longer needed, that must be thrown away, without considering the enormous wealth that can be obtained through the process of recycling.
The numbers speak for themselves: the average per capita world production of waste is estimated to be around 3.38 Kg per day. As far as MSW is concerned, they range from 0.5 kg per day in India to 1.1 kg per day in Canada. The average composition of undifferentiated urban waste consists mainly of organic materials, paper and cardboard (packaging), plastic, glass and metals.
And the most worrying fact is that only a small part of this waste is recovered, recycled or composted. And here's nine then biodegradable eco-products which in some way can contribute to making our planet greener.
1. Postcarden
Thanks to text messages, emails and social networks, greeting cards represent an increasingly less widespread practice also because once the party is over, they too inevitably end up in the collection of greeting cards at the bottom of the drawer. Not the postcarden, greeting cards born from the imagination of A Studio for Design and they turn into real little ones home gardens. 2. Life Box
They are called Life Box and are the packing boxes more sustainable and eco-friendly at the moment than they can also represent a good idea for> companies that want to make their packaging more responsible. The cardboard with which they are made is a combination of several elements including mushrooms e tree seeds. Once the recipient has removed the contents from the package he will be able to plant the Life Box and in a short time he will witness the growth of a tree. 3. Easier Google Adsense
The giant Google has once again demonstrated that it is a pioneer in green initiatives. Recently he used recycled paper with the addition of wild flower seeds, for its Adsense mailings, encouraging users to plant the received letters in the ground. Obviously after reading them!
4. Biodegradable pot / container
Il Ball Horticultural Co. ‘s new SoilWrap® is a 100% biodegradable, bottomless container used with strictly organic plants, fully compostable, which can be planted directly in the ground. It was developed as an antagonist of plastic pots, to offer a concrete solution to the enormous problem of landfilling of the latter. In 2010 it was awarded in the United States as the best ecological packaging made.
5. Biodegradable shoes OAT Shoes
They were presented at theAmsterdam International Fashion Week, the OAT sneakers, completely made with biodegradable materials that contain a mix of dormant seeds inside. Thus, once the shoes are worn out and discarded, you can simply plant them and water them to see them sprout and bloom. I recommend not to use them when it rains.
6. An organic packaging for vegetables
From the brilliant mind of Ben Huttly, a university student, this was born completely organic packaging for vegetables, which uses biodegradable paper e cotton cord instead of plastic and rubber bands. The packaging is also printed with a laser and therefore does not use inks that are harmful to the environment. And, as for the other examples, they are completely ... biodegradable, recyclable and .... "plantable" labels.
6. Spud, biodegradable waterproof
Designed by G4E!, this raincoat is entirely made of bio-plastic obtained from potato starch and other natural resources. The fabric also contains a mix of seeds that will grow quickly as soon as you plant the raincoat.
8. Greenbutts
Green-butts are totally biodegradable cigarette filters, made with a base of organic cotton mixed with natural de-gummed hemp and held together by wheat flour and water. A solution to the problem of cigarette butts because it is enough to collect the greenbutts in a flower pot instead of an ashtray and “watch them grow”. If thrown in the garbage or, uncivilely on the street or on the beach, you can at least rest assured that they will decompose in a few weeks and maybe even a guerrilla gardening action will be done involuntarily as the manufacturing company ensures that, placed under a small layer of soil, they will sprout luxuriantly or even bloom.
9. Packaging piantabile Pangea
This environmentally friendly packaging is used by Pangea to package its beauty and wellness products. It is made in recyclable paper fiber, without the addition of glues or dyes. The seeds contained in the pack will significantly contribute to a greener future.
These products are disposable and completely biodegradable. They are generally made based on corn, sugar cane, potatoes, paper fibers and other renewable vegetable substances, which, in addition to not polluting, allow to avoid waste as they are completely compostable.
Their disposal is very fast because they decompose quickly, integrating completely with nature and helping to create a greener future.
