Nettle, like baking soda, is an excellent natural remedy for fighting dandruff and oily hair. Black tea contains an astringent substance known as "tannic acid" which can prevent excess sebum and naturally close the pores of the scalp. Tea tree oil is a concentrated essential oil capable of purifying hair follicles, reducing dandruff and the formation of sebum.

Boil 1 cup of chopped nettle leaves with 1 bag of black tea. Once the solution has reached room temperature it will need to be filtered. Add 2 tablespoons of baking soda and 3-4 drops of tea tree oil. Spread over the entire hair and leave on for about 20 minutes. Finally, wash your hair with a special shampoo.

Green clay is a fundamental substance for improving the appearance of oily hair, thanks to its detoxifying, disinfecting and purifying properties. Corn starch, on the other hand, has a remarkable absorbent power while apple cider vinegar acts delicately on the hair, restoring the natural pH of the scalp without being aggressive. Thyme essential oil, as well as sage and mint oil, is suitable for treating excessive sebum production as it has
astringent and vasoconstrictive properties.

Mix 2 tablespoons of green clay, 1 of corn starch, 1 of apple cider vinegar and 5 drops of thyme essential oil. Add hot water until the mask is pasty. Apply to the roots, lengths and ends. Cover your hair with a shower cap or wrap it with cling film and wait 20 minutes. After that, rinse and wash your hair with a specific shampoo.

Damaged hair masks

Mask with castor oil, honey and shea butter

10 DIY masks for all hair types

Castor oil strengthens and deeply nourishes damaged hair. Honey, as mentioned previously, is an excellent emollient and regenerator. Shea butter is an extraordinary ingredient for the care of our hair: it regenerates, soothes, hydrates and nourishes.

First of all, especially in the winter months, heat 1 heaping tablespoon of shea butter in a bain-marie to make it soft. Next, combine the shea butter, 3 tablespoons of castor oil and 2 tablespoons of honey in a bowl. Stir until you get a homogeneous mixture. If the mask is too thick, add a little hot water. Apply everything on the hair, massage to promote microcirculation and make sure that the ingredients penetrate deeply. Always use a cap or transparent film. Leave on for about 20 minutes and wash your hair with a specific product for brittle hair.

Mask (intensive) with henna and banana

10 DIY masks for all hair types

Olive oil has emollient and moisturizing properties. Banana is a very nutritious fruit rich in vitamins and minerals. Precisely for this composition it is a very valid ally for the health and well-being of our hair. Neutral henna, on the other hand, is the natural remedy par excellence to improve the hair structure. In fact, it restructures the hair from the root, avoids the formation of split ends and gives shine. Unlike the classic henna, it does not release any type of coloring.

Add in a bowl, hot water and a quantity of neutral henna powder (about 100 g) suitable to form a creamy paste. Mash the pulp of 1 ripe banana and add it, together with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, to the creamy paste obtained previously. If you think the final mixture is too solid, you can add more hot water. However, I recommend not to overdo it otherwise the mask will be too liquid and it will hardly remain on the hair.

Once the right consistency is reached, spread the compress over the entire hair. Leave on for about 60 minutes, always using a cap or transparent film. Finally, switch to normal washing with a restructuring shampoo.

Beat the egg in a small bowl and add 1 jar of whole white yogurt and 2 tablespoons of honey.

Mix everything and apply the mixture obtained on the roots, lengths and ends. Always use a shower cap or cling film and leave on for 20-30 minutes. After the necessary time, rinse with water and a specific shampoo for fragile and fine hair.

Mask (intensive) with henna and arnica essential oil

Neutral henna, in addition to being suitable for brittle hair, is also excellent as an ingredient for intensive treatments for brittle and fine hair. In fact, by improving the structure of the hair, it gives body and volume to the entire hair. What about arnica essential oil? This oil is widely used in trichological phytotherapeutic treatments to normalize or prevent excessive falls and reinvigorate fragile hair.

Mix 100 g of neutral henna with hot water until you get a homogeneous and creamy mixture. Beat 1 egg and add it to the bowl with the henna along with 3 drops of arnica essential oil and 1 heaping tablespoon of olive oil. Apply the mask all over the hair and keep it on for 40-50 minutes. As a last step, rinse your hair with a strengthening product.
