Despite the riot of tintand which promise not to contain ammonia, chemicals or even to be 100% vegetable, the allergic to professional dyes continue to increase. This is why the net is invaded by women who rediscover the powers of 100% green dyes like Henne, Cassia, Walnut husk and Indigo.

Respectively, these herbs are the mother dyes to obtain red, blond, brown and black colors and they can be mixed with an incredible amount of acid agents (from the known lemon infused chamomile, from coffee to tea, honey and oil), used in turn to lighten or darken the color.

They are ecofriendly, because in addition to not contain any harmful substances they help the people who cultivate them. In fact, few know that the Lawson inermis (plant from which henna is obtained) is planted in the areas bordering the deserts to counteract their advance and its driest leaves are sold by farmers in case of drought or bad harvest.

The methods for i coloring preparations are varied and they vary a lot on the type of powder bought (some need to rest overnight, some need to be used right away).

How shutter speed they generally need more patience than a normal dye - ranging from 2 hours to the whole night depending on the desired intensity - but the results are excellent. Furthermore, the herbs do not penetrate the hair like the dye, but form a layer around it, strengthening it and giving it body and vitality.

For those who have the short hair, the color of the herbs could be too full-bodied, but there is no need to despair: by keeping the compounds more liquid and with the special comb palette that can be purchased in all hairdressing shops, it is possible to create meches tono su tono to give movement to the color.

La Cassia also, also called White henna, is an excellent restructuring for hair and many use it to give new shine to the hair and fight against cap points.

Prices vary from 1.5 to 6.00 € per 100g of pure powder (for henna I recommend the body art one that is found in most ethnic shops in every city) and the color can last up to two months.

It covers white hair, but the color tends to accentuate in those areas, which is why many women, before using henna they bleach a few strands with chamomile or lemon packs, in order to make everything uniform.

WARNING: many herbalists, without doing it on purpose, include the salt of picramate, a heavy and very harmful metal. If you go to a herbalist's shop ask for the only ingredients of the powder to be Lawsonia (henna), cassia obovata or italica, walnut husk and indigorifera. If it contains anything else, don't trust it, it would be like buying a common chemical dye!
