“But once we took the puppy in our hands - he continues - we understood that it was the color of his fur, it was really green. We didn't believe our eyes. We could not understand what had happened and so we tried to read up on the internet and discovered that the rare event is completely natural ".

Why was the dog born green?

Pistachio, this is his name, is clearly not an alien dog. The fact that he was born of this color is not a common phenomenon, but it can happen when the mother's amniotic fluid, which forms the sac that surrounds and protects the embryos, mixes with biliverdin, coloring the dog's coat.

The little Pistachio is doing well and growing as well as his brothers and for those who are wondering: no, he will not stay green for life. Over time, the color will go away and disappear completely with the change of coat.
