We can take a cue from the Trade Union Ordinance of the Municipality of Rome, just published with all the provisions for counteract the spread of the tiger mosquito in condominiums and private areas.
"The collaboration of citizens contributes in a decisive way to the effectiveness of the interventions implemented by the Administration on public land", explains the Capitol.
Here are some of the main prevention activities against tiger mosquitoes that each of us can field immediately:
- do not leave objects and containers where stagnant water can collect.
- cover containers where they could form stagnation and keep the water collection systems efficient
- empty frequently commonly used containers such as saucers, small troughs for pets, watering cans and the like.
- treat the water in manholes, drain grates, collection wells, using suitable biological or ecological antilarval products, registered and authorized by the Ministry of Health
- If it is necessary to carry out treatments against the spread of adult mosquitoes, exclusively in cases of actual infestation, these must be carried out by properly trained professional operators
- Finally, we add, put some coffee grounds in the saucers. According to studies, coffee and coffee grounds discourage egg laying, hatching and development of mosquito embryos
