The goal is to create a natural looking bridge that will allow pumas to del Santa Monica Mountain National Recreation Area to move from North to South without danger. The bridge will pass over the Highway 101 of Los Angeles, a road that is crossed by at least 175 vehicles every day.
The bridge will be built in the locality of Liberty Canyon, near Agoura. It will be a bridge full of greenery and natural elements to hide the urban landscape and try to muffle traffic noises.
The cost of the project has been estimated at approximately 57 million dollars. To support the construction of the ecological corridor, the project Save LA Cougars has already raised $ 1 million and would like to succeed have another 3 million available by 2018 in order to create a detailed plan and an environmental review of the project for the construction of this ecological corridor.
When the project to be presented is complete, it will be possible to request some federal funding to make it happen.
