Of course, it doesn't end there.

The lake is located a stone's throw from Largo Preneste, in the midst of buildings and concrete. The clear water mirror, immersed in the greenery of a nature that has regained its space on building speculations, risked returning to private owners. If by 14 August the Municipality had not transformed the expropriation of 2004 into a Public Park, the area would have returned to the old owner, who has never made any secret of his intentions to profit, with a shopping center before, a mega -swimming facility and hotel after and today four skyscrapers.

"I want to reassure all the citizens of the Prenestino district who, in these days, are worried that August 14 will arrive and Roma Capitale will miss the area intended for public green in the Park of the former Snia: the lake and the park will not be touched by anyone. Soon we will delimit the area with a fence, to separate the public from the private one, then we will have to secure the unsafe buildings, but we will certainly not leave it in the hands of private individuals ”, explained Deputy Mayor Luigi Nieri.
