He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him
Rosetta, a baby hedgehog found just born, with the umbilical cord still fresh, she was saved by a miracle. It all begins one day in June, when Mrs. Katia hears her dogs barking insistently in the garage. A brief investigation is enough to discover, with great surprise, the little creature, alone and defenseless, in a wooden box.
With great discretion, Katia waits, half hidden, to check if her mother is around. Unfortunately, a few hours later, a terrible discovery arrives: Mom was dead, hit by a car, as happens to many specimens of its species, which must deal with a one-way convention with man.
Thus begins her adventure as a "nurse" for the baby hedgehog. Which then, it will soon be discovered, is a female: Rosetta. Katia begins to feed her with goat's milk diluted with an adequate mixture to ensure a correct caloric intake, to massage her tummy because she can't do the "bisognini" alone, to wean her.
Little by little, Rosetta grows well, without problems. And is moved outdoors to the terrace, with a little dry hay with which the little girl builds a nice little house by herself, her little nest. But when she turns 4 months old, Katia doesn't want me to spend her life on a terrace. What to do? Leaving her to fend for herself in the woods is not the right solution, as Rosetta may not adapt quickly to wildlife.
For this he asks the WWF of Caserta for help, which immediately puts him in contact with Franco Paolella, director of theWWF Oasis of San Silvestro. Now Rosetta is entrusted to her staff, who have the task of making the lucky orphan "return to nature".
