Can you imagine skiing on one blanket of snow which instead of being white is Orange? This is the unusual scenario that has appeared in recent days in some regions of Russia and Eastern Europe and whose photos, of course, are going around the world.

The rare and curious phenomenon of orange snow has nothing magical about it and it is not a fake. According to meteorologists, it occurs approximately every 5 years and is due to the fact that the sand, coming from a storm in the Sahara desert, along with dust and pollen has gone to mix with the snow, in this case the one fallen in Eastern Europe and Russia.

The mountainous regions of Ucrania, Bulgaria, Romania and indeed Russia have thus unexpectedly transformed into landscapes similar to those of Mars.

Skiers and snowboarders, surprised and fascinated by the original slopes, have published their shots on the major social networks to document the phenomenon of orange snow which this time seems to have been particularly intense.

Martian landscapes, apocalypse on the mountain today! I thought that this happens only near Africa, in Lanzarote-Tenerife or somewhere else, this wind is hot, which carries sand from the desert. But something incredible happened in Polyana, although the deserts are quite far away. To be honest, yellow sand on top of wet snow is an unusual sight, but very sad. The season, already short, leaves less and less hope for continuation every day. #rosakhutor #sandstorm #yellowsnow #stormredglade #rosakhutor #yellowsnow #sandstorm

Do not be surprised, this is not sand, this is snow in Sochi. pic.twitter.com/vTUuRPCeQY

An equally unusual and rare natural phenomenon but, we can say, on the contrary, it occurred instead in January in the Sahara.

Generally the desert is characterized by its amber-orange color which instead appeared to the lucky visitors as white as it was covered with snow.
