The family set out at 4 in the morning with the freezing cold of these days, but to make the long journey even more complex there were the conditions of Pulya who cannot walk much due to her advanced age. Alisa then took her four-legged friend in her arms and loaded him on her shoulders, traveling 17 kilometers with him, taking turns with her husband to the border where she was forced to greet him due to the law in force in Ukraine which calls the men to arms and forbids them to leave the country.

Alisa, the children and the other two women crossed the border, together with their pets and there they realized that they were really safe, all of them.

It was a very hard journey, between mountains and rivers. My babies were crying because of the cold, I also wanted to cry and give up, but I couldn't. I asked the cars and other people to help us with the dog, but everyone told us to leave them there, but our dogs are an integral part of our family, they lived happy and sad moments with us "

Alisa told The Guardian, in the section dedicated to readers' stories. The photos of her and her story are now going around the world.

Leaving the dog she has shared her entire life with has never been an option for her to consider.
