Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

Garnier has gone totally cruelty - free, it's official. This means that the company does not test the finished products or ingredients on animals, nor their suppliers or third parties. It also does not sell its products where animal testing is required by law. Good news that we hope will be an example for other cosmetic companies.

Garnier is one of the few global brands, and certainly the largest, to have obtained the approval of Cruelty Free International, a leading organization for its commitment to ensure that animals are spared from testing and testing. For several months Garnier and Cruelty Free International worked side by side to obtain this evidence and make sure that every single Garnier-branded product could be included in the “Leaping Bunny” program, ensuring that it was not tested on animals.

It has taken months, and now this giant step, not just for Garnier, but for the beauty industry as a whole, has been taken.

“Garnier is a global brand that we are all familiar with. Working with them to help end animal testing for cosmetics and declare them officially approved under the Leaping Bunny Program is a real milestone. It has taken many months, but Garnier has diligently scrutinized every supplier and source and we are completely confident of the results, ”explains Michelle Thew, CEO of Cruelty Free International.

Leaping Bunny requires brands to investigate the entire supply chain, including all raw materials and individual ingredients, for any animal testing case. Approval must be given to all finished products of a brand: individual products or items cannot be approved in isolation.

For Garnier, it was about obtaining a declaration from over 500 suppliers, who purchase more than 3.000 different ingredients, from all over the world. For many months Garnier and Cruelty Free International have worked together to secure this evidence and ensure that every product within Garnier's global portfolio can officially display the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny logo - the universally recognized “cruelty free” brand.

Now all Garnier products are cruelty free, it's official!

“The process took several months, but we diligently verified every supplier and every source, which is why we are confident of the results,” said Garnier global president Adrien Koskas.

And now the jumping bunny will show up on their products. And we hope that it will soon improve the Inci of some of its products, which still contain controversial ingredients, from endocrine disruptors to silicones, from parabens to ingredients of animal origin. It is no coincidence, unfortunately, that they are often rejected in tests conducted by consumer associations on cosmetic products.

In the meantime, let's enjoy this nice change!

Have you purchased a Garnier product and don't see the bunny logo?

“We are actively updating our packaging to display the logo, but we don't want to destroy the old ones to do so. So we are updating the packaging step by step. But don't worry, all of our products (with or without the logo displayed) are now officially approved by Cruelty Free International under the Leaping Bunny program, ”explains the company.
