Jellyfish: swimming with the lungs of the sea (photos and videos)

In reality, not everyone knows that the upper part of the jellyfish called hat can be touched safely because it is not stinging. If you are lucky enough to meet one in the water, perhaps while snorkeling, you can observe it in its dance which makes it very elegant and fascinating. If it gets too close, just push it away by gently pushing a little water.

It will be that as a child I grew up in front of quark documentaries and that if you asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up I would answer the naturalist, maybe that life has reserved something else for me, but I love it living in contact with nature and when I have the chance I film and photograph what I encounter ...

Il 5 October, during the lunch break, I took advantage of the beautiful day to make one of the last ones autumn baths with my father.

There was a beautiful sun, the water was clean and while we were swimming near the rocks we have a beautiful encounter: a lung of the sea, or a jellyfish. The name, lung of the sea, owes it to its movement, which can be clearly seen in the video, and which makes it similar to a human lung. Its real scientific name is Rhizostoma pulmo , due to its size it is the largest among those present in the Mediterranean.

Its diameter can reach 50-60 cm and a weight of 10kg which are composed of 98% water.

Unfortunately, given the stinging characteristics of the tentacles, many people are afraid and often we see children on the banks carrying out real massacres of jellyfish left to dehydrate in the sun.

Not everyone actually knows that the upper part called hat can be touched easily because it is not stinging. If you are lucky enough to meet one in the water, maybe while doing it snorkeling, can be seen in the his dance which makes it very elegant and charming. If she gets too close, that's enough remove it by gently pushing a little water.

The feeling of meeting her in the water was beautiful, she seemed to enjoy our presence, but above all she seemed eager to caresses. Its very smooth surface can be touched easily as long as it is delicate and not disturb her excessively.

After some caresses he greeted us and continued to roam freely among the rocks.

Hope many people soon change their mind about this and on many other animals such as owls, owls, bats…. that due to ignorance and some popular rumors, without foundation, are frowned upon and considered bad luck.
