What is the biodiversity? They will learn it soon, and they will show us their very personal point of view, the students of schools the province of Nuoro, involved in an interesting project on the occasion of theinternational year of biodiversity proclaimed by the UN.
It's "Biodiversity Olympics", called byLaore regional agency, born for the implementation of regional programs in the agricultural field and for the rural development, and intended for nursery, primary, lower and upper secondary schools in the province.
It is a competition for the diffusion of the concept of biodiversity, linked to biological and cultural aspects, and fundamental for the protection of the agricultural heritage of a territory. Biodiversity is in fact linked both to the plant and animal world and to the protection of old jobs e traditions in agriculture e culinary, and it is precisely this importance that we want to try to pass on to the new generations.
Study projects can be carried out with different techniques of expression (texts, photographs, videos, theater and multimedia processing) and provide for the sharing of practices and experiences between the various generations, with the involvement of the entire population and traditional craftsmen. The activities must take place during the year school 2010/2011 and also provide for the comparison and interaction between the different participating schools.
The agency will provide the design support for ideas of the various classes and will organize an introductory day on issues related to agricultural biodiversity. The winners, chosen by a special jury at the end of April, will win one day in one Farm of Sardinia.
The membership forms, which you can find clicking here, must be sent by October 15, 2010, following the procedures indicated in regulation.
