So, while people shake hands and chat, dogs sniff each other to get to know each other. But when do they do it with humans? Exactly the same thing happens. When a dog sniffs his private parts, it's because he wants to know more about us.

And he does it by putting his muzzle on the private parts because the apocrine sweat glands of man are not found throughout the body, but in the armpits and groin, so the instinct is to go straight there. If he does it with strangers it is to get information, if he does it with the owners it is only to steal their mood at that moment.

No kind of anomalous attitude, but in line with its nature. In particular, dogs tend to smell the private parts of menstruating women, those who have recently given birth or are breastfeeding, those who are in the period of ovulation or, in general, people who have recently had sexual intercourse. The reason is clear: the smell of pheromones is stronger and more consistent.

So what seems strange to us is completely normal for animals, on the other hand it would be absurd to expect another type of approach, right?

What to do if the dog sniffs the private parts?

The answer is simple: absolutely nothing. Of course, this type of behavior will create some discomfort, but being a completely normal phenomenon it is good to indulge the dog in one's instinct, both for its physical and mental well-being.
