Seeing Bao Bao rolling down the snowy hill, in fact, reminds us that now there are less than 1.600 specimens of its species present in nature. Today the panda is in danger of extinction because the forests in which it has always lived are being destroyed. And it becomes increasingly difficult to find bamboo shoots to feed on.
E it is no coincidence that the little one likes fallen snow because of the great cold wave that is hitting part of the USA. The panda once lived throughout southern and eastern China, as well as neighboring Myanmar and northern Vietnam, but the expansion and development of the human population has confined it to dense bamboo and coniferous forests of the mountainous ranges of South-Western China, in Sichuan province, Shan-si Gansu.
The cold season, therefore, is the favorite period for pandas, who have a great layer of fat and a beautiful, warm coat. They are adapted to this climate and weather conditions, the same ones that occur in their natural environment icy mountains of central China.
The question then arises: how can pandas withstand the hot summer temperatures that affect the cities where the zoos that host them are located? And the thought runs fast to Winter, the polar bear from the Buenos Aires zoo killed by the heat.
