The new paragraph 9-bis of art. 189 of the Highway Code, introduced by 120 / 2010 law, in compliance with the European Convention for the protection of pets, therefore provides that who fails to assist a pet, income or otherwise protected it may also be punished on the basis of the testimony given by third parties present during the accident. According to the new Minister's rule, the driver "has the obligation to stop and take all appropriate measures to ensure timely rescue intervention for animals that have suffered damage".
