    Vinegar is a very valuable resource when it comes to ecological cleaning.     However, we must remember that not all surfaces love contact with highly acidic substances such as vinegar. Here, therefore, it seems useful to remind you which are the occasions in which you will have to set aside one of your most faithful allies for do not risk damaging objects and surfaces present in your home. In warning you, we also provide you with some small tips onalternative possible, but still green.

    1. Remember that vinegar, used pure, has very little effect onanointed and on the stubborn dirt of pots and plates. We recommend that you use a completely natural detergent, in which the power of vinegar is strengthened by the degreasing action of lemon and salt or to soak the dishes in hot water, in which you have dissolved some flakes of plant-based soap.

    2. It is inappropriate to use vinegar on waxed surfaces, because you would risk ruining this type of coating. Alternatively, a simple one should be used for cleaning cotton or microfiber cloth soaked in warm water and well wrung out, which will also work perfectly against dust and for cleaning the parquet.

    3. Vinegar is not recommended for cleaning surfaces in real marble, such as kitchen countertops and sinks, but also floors. To clean the marble it is recommended to use water and true Marseille soap, to be reduced into flakes and dissolved in hot water if necessary.

    4. Never use vinegar for cleaning screen of computer or the phone. You could risk ruining them irreparably. Get a good reusable microfibre cloth and use it dry to remove dust or slightly damp, with the device off, in case of dirt stains.



    5. Vinegar is not suitable for cleaning non-enameled cast iron pans. Cast iron is a reactive material that is likely to corrode or discolour when in contact with acidic substances, including those contained in foods, such as lemons or tomatoes. Cast iron cookware must be cleaned with water e dry immediately. To remove food residues, they can be scrubbed using a rough sponge. The greasy dirt can be removed more easily if the stains are first sprinkled with del sale.

    6. If you want to use vinegar like softener in washing machine, do not pour it directly on the clothes but only in the special basket, separated from the detergent, so that the two substances do not collide, mutually canceling their effect.

    7. Vinegar is often recommended as insecticide and pesticide. Be careful though do not spray vinegar directly on the plants from which you would like to keep unwanted guests away, as you risk damaging them. Precisely for this reason vinegar is indicated to counteract the weeds (but beware: among them some may be edible!).



    8. Regarding the problem of spots, the vinegar can help you to eliminate the streaks left by the mud on your clothes, the lime stains left on your work clothes or the traces of deodorant that have yellowed the t-shirt and shirts. However, it will be ineffective with respect to egg stains on fabrics, which could make them indelible. In this case, intervene by rubbing the stain with water and salt.
