The true story of Jefferson / Negro, the dog who walked 372 miles for the World Cup
He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him
The World Cup in Brazil doesn't just give us away stories of abuse and poverty. David Bewick, Ben Olssen, Adam Burns, and Pete Johnston are four English football fans who have planned to walk from Mendoza, Argentina to Porto Alegre, Brazil, for the World Cup.
The 2 thousand km project is called Walk to the World Cup. But the real news is that the team has been enriched by a new member along the way ... It is a black dog of the most beautiful breed in the world, the mestizo, who began following hikers after the first 1.200 kilometers of the journey.
The boys called him Jefferson, convinced, at the same time, that sooner or later he would leave them to go back home. He, on the other hand, did not. And he started walking with them, day after day. Eventually they gave him a shirt and he is officially became the fifth member of the team.

From this moment on, however, the story takes a different turn. Miles and miles away, in fact, a man named Ignacio Etchetchury is worried for days about the disappearance of his trusty Negro dog, which in Spanish means black.
Everything clears up when one of his friends reads an article right on Walk to the World Cup and recognizes the missing furry man. So she sends the British guys a message on Facebook, warning them that Jefferson is not really a stray. The English fans, happy for their friend, decide to keep him with them until his owner arrives in Brazil by bus to take him home. This is the true story of Jefferson / Negro, the dog that traveled 372 miles for the World Cup.
