He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

Dozens of hives destroyed e millions of dead bees, some crushed, others killed by the cold and rain. An incalculable damage to the environment, as well as to the company of Mattia Landra, a young Piedmontese beekeeper.

At the moment it is not known who he is the author of such a cowardly gesture but it is feared that to devastate the entire apiary of Mattia may have been someone who did not like the presence of bees, perhaps even a colleague.

In fact, Mattia had recently moved his bees to help them find acacia flowers. As Apis pointed out in a post on Facebook, several local beekeepers in the area are strongly opposed to the migration of colleagues from neighboring municipalities. Hence, the fear that a kill bees it was really someone who knows bees well.

Who takes care of these valuable pollinating insects he should more than anyone else be aware of them importance for biodiversity rather than considering them as mere "farm animals" that can be disposed of out of spite or revenge.

In Piedmont on 11 May 70 hives were overturned. The hives belong to a beekeeper who had moved his bees ...

“The frosts in early April stopped the acacia from blooming. But I have no problems moving around and I took the bees to the three municipalities where the acacia was saved, in the Canavese: in Caluso, Mazzè and Candia Canavese. Here the fact happened. I suspect who did it, it's not some kid's stunt. However, I filed a complaint, even if it will be of little use. Now I have lost all the acacia harvest and, having no more bees, also that of the chestnut tree, which I would have obtained here in the Maira valley at the beginning of June. " explained Mattia.

Years of work and care have vanished overnight and it will not be easy to recover, but to try to restart the beekeeper's business a fundraising thanks to which in just over two days more than 67 thousand euros were raised, far exceeding the initial target of 15 thousand euros. The collection is still open on Gofundme and it is possible to contribute.

Surely the money raised will be of great help, as well as the many messages of support and solidarity towards Mattia. His bees, however, are no longer there.

“From an economic point of view it is a disaster, but it is also from an emotional point of view, because those who have made such a horrible gesture have no principles. Furthermore, bees are extremely precious for the ecosystem. How do you harm these beings? I have suffered damage, but in reality the environment has suffered it. I have a really bad heart ”, concluded the beekeeper.
