Another elephant killed by 'trophy' hunters. It happened in Gonarezhou National Park, in the heart of Zimbabwe. Here a rare elephant with large tusks was brutally slaughtered by a man, who had already killed the largest African elephant in the last 4 years 30 years ago.

La slaughter of elephants it seems to know no end in Africa. The hunt was reportedly organized by JWK Safaris who shared an image on their Facebook page. In the photo, two men - with blurry faces - stood above the elephant's huge body and tusks after killing it in Gonarezhou National Park.

Il post it was later canceled. However, it is known that the macabre act was carried out by a "professional hunter", a man who had already committed other killings.

The Facebook post was later deleted. Here is the content of the post, released by Africa Geographic:

    “Good morning hunters

Here are two photos of an elephant trophy hunted yesterday in the Gonarezhou Safari areas of Zimbabwe on a hunt led by PH Nixon Dzingai. Carl booked this hunt for PH Grant Taylor who is pictured with Nixon. These fangs have not yet been weighed. It is an exceptional trophy, with long, thick and symmetrical fangs typical of the Gonarezhou and Kruger gene ”.

According to Africa Geographic, the same "professional hunter" was responsible of the death in 2015 of the largest elephant hunted in Africa since 1986. At the time, hunters argued that death was "ethical" as they even believed the elephant was beyond its reproductive age.

Experts revealed, however, that the animal was between 35 and 40 years old so not only was the animal of reproductive age, but older males are vital to herd dynamics, teaching countless life lessons to most. young. It should also be said that such creatures live up to 70-75 years.

The loss of large-tusked elephants can have a significant impact on herds, affecting their gene pool.

Another massacre that unfortunately reduces the number of elephants in Africa for the simple sake of killing.
