The moving release of two belugas from a Chinese aquarium at the new offshore refuge

After years away from the sea in the Chinese aquarium, two belugas were rescued and moved to a sanctuary

After years away from the sea and having been forced to perform in shows at the Ocean World aquarium in Shanghai, two belugas re-experience freedom thanks to the charity Sea Life Trust. They are called Little Grey e Little White and they have been locked up in the Chinese aquarium for almost a decade, but today a new life begins for them: in Iceland, the two will be able to swim in the sea for the first time in years.

A life in captivity to which the two belugas had never resigned themselves, including flashes, laughter and various shows to entertain visitors. For this, as soon as they arrived in the freezing waters off the southern coast of Iceland, they did not contain their enthusiasm. Now, after a period of settling in here, they will be released into the sanctuary.
