Let's save Vova, the bear who has been locked up for 20 years in a small concrete cage outside a restaurant in Ukraine

It is the distressing story of Vova, a bear held captive in a sad cage (just 4 x 4 meters) outside a restaurant in Ukraine. For almost two decades he has been there, as if he were a freak. Its purpose? Intriguing people and, therefore, attracting more customers to the place.
His eyes beg for mercy, but he continues to be condemned to an unworthy existence, far from his habitat and his fellowmen. To turn the spotlight on his story is the international organization Four Paws, which has long been fighting for his release.
In November 2021, Ukrainian law banned the keeping of bears near restaurants. After this announcement, we contacted the responsible authorities directly, explaining that we would take care of Vova by taking him to the bear sanctuary in Domazhyr. court dismissed his case. Without a court-ordered confiscation of Vova, we cannot save him. All bears sharing the same fate as Vova could risk the same end, as the inaction of the Khmelnitsky authorities, the authority responsible for the Vova case, would send a negative signal to other local authorities.
Let's save Vova from her cruel fate!
To save the poor bear, the Four Paws organization is inviting everyone to join the appeal made to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
"Help us to pressure local authorities to respect the law and order the confiscation of the Vova bear as soon as possible," the activists write, urging citizens to email the minister.
