He is about to end up run over, his mother saves himUn garden neat and clean, without too much effort and without producing a sone gram of CO2. It is not a dream. The solution is called Tertill and it is a small one robot that removes weeds using solar energy.
Hunting for funds on Kickstarter, Tertill was created by Joe Jones, the inventor of Roomba, and was designed to sit quietly in the garden waiting for work to be done, regardless of the weather.
How does it work?
Tertill literally lives in the garden and prevents weeds from appearing. Using design elements and a variety of sensors, patrols the garden every day, preventing the plants from being surrounded by weeds.
They are not needed pesticides or herbicides. The small device, which looks like Roomba, does it all by itself and mechanically pulls out the weeds.
How does it know what needs to be eradicated and what not?
A robot game, for Tertill: the weeds are short, the plants are tall. A plant tall enough to touch the front of Tertill's outer frame activates a sensor that causes the robot to shut down. A plant short enough to pass under Tertill, on the other hand, activates a different sensor that causes the mower to start.
No more is needed energia if not the one provided free from the sun. In the presence of sunlight, even on cloudy days, Tertill's photovoltaic cell converts light into electricity. The robot also stores excess energy in one battery.
There is no need to charge or replace the battery, as the robot uses the stored energy when it is cloudy or when there is not enough sunlight.
Tertill uses four wheels motor vehicles to move even in soft ground and sand. It also moves on uphill terrain.

At the moment it is not possible to buy it because Tertill is on the hunt for funds. There will be time until 13 July. Only then will we know if he has achieved the goal and if we will see him on the market.
