The family of over 50 individuals emerged from the jungle and crossed one of the main arteries of the province of Chachoengsao. The spectacular footage shows people gathering on both sides of the street to observe the placid creatures. Numerous police officers also came to the scene to make sure the elephants arrived safely on the other side of the road to re-enter the jungle.
Pratya Chutipat Sakul, who filmed the incredible clip, said:
Over 50 wild elephants crossed the highway. They were moving together from one side of the jungle to the other. Wildlife officers had been following the elephants for the past few days. When they realized that their path was towards the road, they called the police and urgently asked to close the road. The elephants were all so calm and barely noticed the humans. I feel very lucky to have seen such an extraordinary show ”.
