After the cow, goat and elephant poop paper, comes the paper made with donkey manure. Producing Dung Paper - as they called it - is Sastres Papers, a small Catalan company specializing in the production of artisan paper for fine arts and graphic design. In March of last year, Jordi Torrent, general coordinator of the company, taking advantage of the lack of activity during the first period of the pandemic, began to experiment by taking a cue from the paper made of elephant poop. The result: a sustainable, good quality paper that is already being sold in several countries with the slogan - humorously alluding to the current world situation - "paper de merda per a un temps de merda", or shit paper for shit times .

Due to the high-fiber diet, Dung Paper is made with the poop of Catalan donkeys - one of the symbols of the region - using a traditional technique: first mix the manure with water, then put it in a press and finally let the paper dry before wrapping and selling it.
Today we went to @SastresPaperers and played a role. They even have Catalan donkey manure! They export all over the world and do fantastic workshops - in Banyoles or wherever necessary.

The handmade donkey poop paper is of excellent quality and can be used for printing, writing or drawing. Certainly, given the price, it is to be used for a special occasion, a single A4 sheet in fact costs about 1,60 euros. The color is brown, but quiet it does not give off odors.
