A six-meter killer whale ran aground on a rocky beach in southeastern Alaska, but was rescued by special people

With buckets of water they kept her cool and moist and thus saved her life. We're talking about an orca stranded on the rugged shores of an Alaskan island that made it, thanks to volunteer sailors and wildlife officials who didn't abandon it.

The six-meter killer whale managed to return to the sea after six hours. An endless time for the mammal stuck in the rocks. The animal's calls fortunately managed to attract the attention of Chance Strickland, the captain of a private yacht. He and his crew didn't hesitate for a moment, went ashore to help the orca, started sprinkling water on the animal and tried to keep the birds away. In the meantime, the NOAA was warned and provided further assistance until the tide was fortunately risen and the orca was able to return to the sea with great difficulty.

The orca was floated by the tide at 3pm and swam around in a confused, meandering fashion but then got its bearing and caught up with its pod. Photos of the animal and its rescuers were posted on Twitter by Tara Neilson who says:

“My grandson Aroon was here and saw this stranded orca. Since I have lived here I have never heard or seen anything like this, I wonder it is not the fault of the earthquake that hit the area ".

And in another tweet he writes:

“Looks like he's young, Aroon says there's no sign of his pod. People are pouring water on it. Unfortunately she got hurt on the rocks trying to move on the beach. The good news is that the tide is coming ”.

From NOAA, however, they explain that there is no connection with the 8,2 magnitude earthquake that hit the area and that the orca is actually T146D and is 13 years old. And thanks to this task force, he is now swimming in his sea again.
