The owner defended himself by saying that the dog, according to him, he was already dead. Fortunately, the unfortunate animal was rescued later 40 hours spent in those conditions.

And all because a passer-by, hearing strange yelps, had alerted her Police of Desenzano. And the agents, digging with their bare hands where they heard the moans coming from, made the grisly discovery. Agonizing, eyes covered with a rag, Jerry was there, covered with dirt, rubble and rubbish.

His master was identified by the authorities after a few hours of investigation and was sued for mistreatment of animals. To aggravate his position also the testimony of the Police who reported to the Public Prosecutor the particular cruelty with which Jerry had been buried alive.

Fortunately, the animal it is no longer in danger of life, and is being treated in the health kennel of Brescia, where it will remain "in convalescence" waiting for a new owner.
