Raju, the elephant who cried for his freedom, still in danger (PETITION)

    When activists rescued the elephant Raju from its chains, the photos of the pachyderm crying at the moment of release were shared by millions and millions of users around the world. But all of this may not be enough: his owner-tormentor is trying to assert himself in court to get the animal back, while the government is considering the allegations of cruelty against him.

    When activists saved the elephant Raju from his chains, the photos where the pachyderm cries in the moment of liberation have been shared by millions and millions of users around the world.

    But all this may not be enough: his owner-tormentor is trying to stand up in court to get the animal back, while the government is considering allegations of cruelty against him.

    For now the case of Raju has been postponed at least until 11 September. “We feel very confident and optimistic about the result. The few more days allow us to be even more prepared and to try to get even more attention to this injustice.     When Raju was released from his chains during a dangerous surgery, he was oozing pus from wounds and featured huge abscesses to the paws. The animal was starving and had injuries all over its body. The manager also used to pluck the hairs of his raw to sell them as a good luck charm.

    Thankfully though, Raju was moved to a new home last month, where he is now able to walk free, eat good food, get medical care, dive into his favorite pool, and socialize with other elephants - all of which he is. been denied during his 50 years of life in toothed chains that have carved out his skin.
