Who says cats alone have nine lives? The story of Molly, a very sweet and beautiful Labrador, will make you think again. It all starts with her family's underestimation of her health condition. For several years the dog had been very overweight, a condition that slowed her down and prevented her from living a normal life.

But his coat made the weight problem almost harmless. The food with which Molly was fed, in fact, it was slowly killing her. She had an allergic reaction to a component of the diet, which had caused her an infection, exasperated by the lack of medical treatment. Allergies and infections had led to severe hair loss.

And the problems were bound to increase. The fungus that proliferated on her skin was causing a putrid smell that could no longer be masked or covered. Not knowing what else to do, his family left him outside the house. This put Molly at the mercy of the elements as flies began to populate her now exposed flesh and ears, causing further infections. All the while, her family continued to put her on the same diet that had caused all of this.

The situation was dire. The family had other dogs on that property and knew they couldn't properly care for molly due to financial problems. Thankfully, he finally did the right thing. She turned to Southern California Labrador Retriever Rescue, which immediately started the long recovery process. This is how they discovered that not only were there various infections caused by poor nutrition and neglect, but there was also a lump on the neck.

“We were afraid. We immediately thought about cancer, ”says Dami Shepard, her adoptive mother from the association. As if she Molly hadn't suffered enough already, she was immediately biopsied. The tumor was cancerous, but the vets managed to cure it in time. Yet another miracle. Three months later, daily baths, ointments, medications and proper diet all helped make Molly a new dog with a normal weight and good health. She was ready to find a new home and was welcomed by Anne and Michael.
