Molise exists and becomes the new home of 5 million bees. Among the apple orchards in the process of flowering, 142 beehives were positioned yesterday, the home of pollinating insects that for about 20 days will dance among the buds of the plants of the organic farm Melise, to pollinate thousands of apple blossoms of the most varied types.

An agricultural practice, that of the "pollination service", complementary to organic farming, in harmony with the protection of the territory and its biodiversity, through cultivation methods that abolish the use of pesticides and respect nature and bees, which are a guarantee of the healthiness of the environment and food safety indicators. Thanks to the pollination of bees, one third of the food consumed throughout the world is produced.

The initiative is part of the Castel del Giudice Community Apiary project (IS), which sees the active involvement of 30 new beekeepers ready to manage their new apiaries and produce wildflower honey in the Molise and Abruzzo hills. In the next few days other hives will fade away located in the countryside of the territory, which extends from the towns of the province of Chieti and Aquila to the Province of Isernia and part of that of Campobasso.

Bees, therefore, become sentinels and guarantee an area rich in biodiversity, far from forms of pollution.

"The full flowering of the apple orchard is expected next week - explains Simone Gentile, director of the organic farm Melise, born from the recovery of disused land -. With bees in apple orchards we also give a concrete answer to the ongoing debate at national level on the relationship between beekeeping and agriculture, a relationship that must be one of complicity and collaboration, as demonstrated by the advantages that pollinating insects have over the entire agri-food production sector. ".

The proof that this is the real challenge for the rebirth of small villages, but also for the entire planet.
