Australia is currently in the throes of a real environmental catastrophe created by the numerous fires that have already devastated one million hectares of land and woods, especially on the east coast. For this it was declared the state of emergency.

Many animals, including Koalas, are losing their lives while several individuals, injured and dehydrated, continue to be found by residents trying to help as they can. We had already told you about the moving video of the koala being rescued after the fires and made to drink and, in recent years, about the making of gloves for koalas injured in the fires (this is not the first time that Australia has been struggling with this problem).

Those who can are trying to help these defenseless animals struggling with a real devastation of their natural habitat and constantly at risk. Among other things, gloves are made for injured paws and gods small bags sewn by hand.

What are they for? Help Volunteers or Wildlife Retrievers a contain the small marsupials found injured so that they can be more easily transported to the appropriate hospitals where their burns are treated and the consequences of smoke inhalation and dehydration treated.

In this video a simple guide to make them.

However, the hospitals that treat animals, as you can imagine, are almost collapsing and need help. There are more and more small injured patients but concrete help is also needed for the specimens that have remained in the wild (remember that the koala is seriously threatened with extinction and after these fires it is estimated that it can happen within thirty years).

For this reason, a fundraiser was activated, in particular in favor of Port Macquarie Koala Hospital, which will use the harvest to purchase and distribute automatic water stations that will help koalas and other animals survive fires as, among the many problems they face, there is also that of dehydration.
