Kangaroo rescued from a frozen lake appears to be showing gratitude to its rescuers

The marsupial had ended up in a frozen lake and was carefully rescued by two men who picked it up and left it on the shore

An exhausted kangaroo cub was pulled out of the freezing waters of Lake Cranberra, Australia, by two heroic passersby who didn't hesitate to enter and slowly approach the trembling little marsupial, with their arms outstretched so as not to scare the animal. Once pulled out of the water, the little marsupial seems to want to thank his rescuers by shaking hands with one of them.

Documenting the tender scene, David Boyd, another passerby who had called the Canberra authorities to report the frightened animal who shared the video on Facebook in recent days. From the images you can see how initially the animal remains motionless at the sight of the two men and then, frightened, almost kicking away the first man who had approached and also the second one initially approached without success. Fortunately, however, in the end together they managed to calm the kangaroo and get it out of the water with the help of a third man on the dock.

Once the animal was placed on the shore, as if he realized he was safe and that the men were just trying to save him, in an apparent gesture of thanks, he touched the hand of one of his rescuers.

“Oh he's thanking you,” is also heard from behind the camera

This was my morning – only in Canberra – well done to these two guys – bloody freezing – the guy wearing the Soldier On Top is ex Navy – good news the kangaroo came good?

This was my morning, alone in Canberra, congratulations to these two guys because the lake was damn frozen [...] good news, the kangaroo is fine,

It is with these words that David shared the happy ending video on social media and wrote in the comments that the kangaroo was a bit in shock and it took about 30 minutes for the animal to fully recover.

A story with a happy ending that shows that there are still people with a big heart who do not hesitate to throw themselves into a frozen lake when needed.
