A miraculous rescue. A dog trapped in the landfill's organic storage area was in danger of being chopped
“We heard him yelp from afar. We approached and saw him motionless, probably terrified, in the middle of the waste ”, tell the AAMPS workers, protagonists of a story with a happy ending, but which could have had a completely different outcome.
At about 9.00 they were operating at the Vallin dell'Aquila landfill not far from theorganic waste storage area produced by the people of Livorno who are then sent for treatment in another locality.
A moan-like sound caught their attention and, to no small surprise, they found a husky crossbreed, as if petrified, among the garbage. They climbed the hill of garbage bags, reassured the animal and, after a few minutes and gently, took it in their arms and carried it to a safe area.
"The scene was touching - says Tinucci - but it could have become heartbreaking if we hadn't realized what was happening, because such waste is stored but then removed and handled by mechanical means ".
The employees of AAMPS immediately called the Municipal Police who, with the help of the professional hitcher affiliated with the Municipal Kennel, traced back to the owner of the dog.
