With a new regional law, the burial of the ashes of pets together with their owner will be allowed in Liguria.

Even in Liguria, pets can be buried together with the owner. The Regional Council has in fact approved the bill on the burial of pets: they can be cremated and the ashes placed in a separate urn.

After Lombardy, therefore, also Liguria with a new law on funeral and cemetery activities allows the burial of the ashes of pets together with the deceased.

This is what was announced by the vice-president and councilor for health of the Liguria Region, Sonia Viale, regarding the law approved today in the Regional Council by a very large majority.

“This bipartisan initiative allows Liguria to equip itself with a fundamental standard, already present in other regions, in relation to a matter that has important aspects not only health but also social. I find particularly significant the article on the cremation and destination of the ashes, the freedom of choice of family members or those entitled to the place of farewell and the possibility of burial together with the deceased even of the ashes of his pet ", says Viale al Savona News.

Thanks to this law "it will be possible to give a last farewell to loved ones according to stringent rules in terms of hygiene and health but also close to the sensitivity of local communities, with particular attention also paid to operators in the sector".
