The TAR therefore revoked the suspension of last August 28 relating to the killing of deer for the period from the August 16 to the September 14, highlighting how Ispra considers "ordinarily allowed" the hunting of male deer and "acceptable" the killing of females and their young, before the opening of the hunting season "taking into account the consistency of the populations of ungulates and deer culling plans in the province of Belluno ".
The deer population in the province is growing by 30% every year, despite the presence of wolves, and the animals are accused of major damage to agriculture.
"In fact, the administrative judge backtracked from the previous precautionary decision, recognizing the validity of the management plan presented by the Province of Belluno and its full adherence to the guidelines of Ispra, the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research , the highest national scientific body for the protection and protection of the environment ”, commented the regional councilor Giuseppe Pan.
