A story that occurred in recent days in Palmi, in the province of Reggio Calabria where due to the high temperatures recorded and the great fatigue, the horse carrying a bride fell ill.

The incident was reported by Rinaldo Sidoli, spokesman for Alleanza Popolare Ecologista (Ape) who posted the video on Facebook, which has unfortunately become viral. In the video you can clearly see that the horse trudges, is tired, advances slowly until it just can't make it and falls to the ground.

We are facing yet another exploitation of innocent beings for the purpose of pure spectacle. We remind you that the asphalt in the summer season reaches an average of 50 degrees and in the highest peaks it reaches 100. A real torture for animals born to stay free in nature where these changes in temperature do not exist. We find it unacceptable to denounce yet another exploitation, which, in our opinion, can foreshadow the crime of mistreatment as sanctioned by art. 544-ter of the penal code. We hope that the authorities in charge will intervene on what has happened and prohibit this retrograde practice that involves only suffering. After this umpteenth massacre, we urge the legislator to speed up the modification of art. 70 of the highway code which provides for the disposal of animal traction. We trust that politics is committed in a transversal way, as it has already promised us several times, so that this torture remains a legacy of the past, says Sidoli
