Green Hill: tomorrow the protest in front of the Region. Yellow on 454

The animal rights activists have no intention of giving up and, fearing that this morning's garrison, held in Rome in front of the Ministry of Health, is not enough to resolve the Green Hill issue, they have already mobilized to give life to a further protest action , which will take place in Milan tomorrow, Friday 23 December, in front of Palazzo Lombardia, to ask the Region to intervene directly with an obligation to close the breeding.

Animal rights activists have no intention of giving up and, fearing that this morning's garrison, held in Rome di fronte al Ministry of Health, is not enough to resolve the Green Hill issue, they have already mobilized to give life to one further protest action, that I will take place Milan tomorrow, Friday December 23, in front of Palazzo Lombardia, per also ask the Region to intervene directly with a closure obligation for breeding.

In spite of the name, which evokes green meadows and pristine landscapes, Green hill, for those who are not yet aware of it, is nothing more than a lager breeding for dogs intended for vivisection based in Montichiari, in the province of Brescia. The hope of the animal rights activists is that the Brescia-based company will soon be closed. The principals of the last few days, held precisely in Montichiari, were not enough to convince the mayor of the city, Elena Zanola, to withdraw the license in Green Hill, on the basis of administrative irregularities on the part of the guinea pig company. Green Hill would not have respected the regulations in force on the breeding of animals intended for experimentation. This would be enough to decree its closure.

Le irregularities have been brought to light by the Oipa (International Animal Protection Organization) and concern the failure to register ben 454 beagle dogs - whose presence at Green Hill was not found either through the canine registry or through the breeding registration lists - which add up to the other hundreds of dogs, whose destiny is to be sold to testing centers, university laboratories and pharmaceutical companies located throughout Europe.

It is feared that i "invisible" dogs have been kept as such in order to be destined for experiments that violate the European protocol in the field of vivisection. Unfortunately, it is not yet prohibited in Europe, where rules have in any case been established for the protection of animals intended for laboratory experiments. A violation proof of EU regulations by Green Hill should, logically, lead to immediate closure.

The hope of the activists is that first of all clarity will be made on the irregularities that emerged from the investigations carried out by the OIPA, which allow us to hypothesize a behavior that is not entirely correct on the part of theAsl, which would have endorsed the sheets used up to now by the breeding for the registration of the dogs, documents that should instead have been examined by the Mayor of Montichiari. Between rumors there is also the possibility that Green Hill itself has obtained authorization to access the canine registry.

The anti -ivitionists of the Coordination Stop Green Hill hope that the Lombardy Region dust off a motion with which the Regional Council had declared its opposition to vivisection last February and had promised provisions on the matter, which have never been implemented since then. Words and promises are no longer enough for animal rights activists, who never stop shouting loudly about the terrible reality within Green Hill.

Animal rights activists are keen to make it known to everyone that Green Hill's dogs are not treated like living beings, but rather considered as commodities, forced to live in cages leaning against each other, without any possibility of going outside, without ever being exposed to natural light, until the moment of being loaded onto a van that will transport them to the gallows.

The situation has now reached unsustainable levels. While the authorities still struggle to take action on the matter, activists are putting their own lives at risk in the name of the cause they believe in. It is the case of Alessandro Zucchetti, taken seriously ill during one of the principals held in Montichiari last week. Two days fromcardiac arrest, the XNUMX-year-old activist came out of induced coma to which the doctors had submitted it. The illness had probably been exacerbated by the stress and cold, which the demonstrators had had to suffer because they had not been allowed to pitch tents for shelter, a concession that occurred only following Alexander's illness, after which the area intended for the garrison it was moved from the square of Montichiari towards the road that leads to Green Hill.
