At the time, also for DJ3, as for the mother, the arrest order signed by the then president Lorenzo Dellai, due to an alleged danger, even though the little bear had never attacked a man. DJ3 had in fact been captured in Val d'Algone, in the Giudicarie, and the arrest was even triggered by the sheep predation which took place during the day near the town of Fisto, in the municipality of Spiazzo Rendena.
To capture DJ3, the men of the Trentino Forestry Corps used a steel "tube trap" which, by taking action, allows the animal to be locked up with high safety standards for both the operators and the bear.
Since then the jail has also begun for DJ3, a detention that sees her today locked up after 8 years in an enclosure of 3 thousand square meters and with an overall good state of health. His behavior? According to the vets who check her twice a year it is absolutely normal.
"The Province of Trento claims to have acted correctly for the safety of the territory, unaware instead of not having respected the previously signed Project which should have respected the ethology and nature of Dj3", say the animal rights activists who launched a petition on change.
“Currently many bears are managed by the Administrations in a way that is incompatible with their nature to adapt them to human sociological needs. This is, in effect, a real mistreatment. We therefore ask the Administrations to review their position on the issue ".
Meanwhile, as for the M49 still on the run, the messages of persuasion from Minister Costa continue, who still invites not to shoot the M49 plantigrade fleeing in the Trentino woods: "Just don't kill it!", His words:
