Umbria can count on two new ones from today dispensers of detergents on tap: two new points of purchase were inaugurated this morning bulk detergents, one in Foligno at the Coop “Now”Open at 10 and the other in Spoleto inside the Coop "Ducato" which started at 12:00.
The two new distribution points that will expand the map of dispensers of detergents on tap, are part of the project "Innovative paths to reduce waste at the source" promoted by Umbria Region, in collaboration with the Provinces of Perugia and Terni, with the purpose of sensitize citizens to conscious purchases, reuse of packaging and reduction of waste production. This is the same plan that, with the support of the ATO Umbria 3, the VUS and the Municipality of Spoleto, introduced the still and sparkling public water fountains.
At the inauguration ceremony of the two stores in detergents on tap, the Regional Councilor for the Environment and Sustainable Development participated Lamberto Bottini who was keen to underline the excellent sales results of this type of products (already installed and operational in eight other supermarkets in Umbria), but above all the environmental benefits in terms of emissions savings harmful, of energia and use of plastic e cardboard which characterizes the sale of bulk detergents extensively illustrated by us in ours guide to ecological house cleaning. As well as the economic benefits deriving from "these sales systems, which promote the reduction of packaging and represent a concrete opportunity to savings".
The next step in the project is to soon install the distributors of raw milk on tap and increase the number of water fountains already operational in Spoleto. “Reducing the production of waste and limiting its impact on the environment - added the commissioner - is the primary objective of the new regional waste management plan. The success of these policies cannot be separated from citizens' 'good practices'' '.
