The name of Derrick Campana is linked (also) to that of the pony Angel MarieTrampled by her newborn mother, her front legs were so badly damaged that she was no longer able to walk. But the challenge was immediately taken by Campana, who, like the character of the eponymous remake played by Eddie Murphy, had rather started his career as a orthopedic technician and prosthetist making prostheses for humans.

And if at the beginning of his career Campana had worked with and for humans, he later discovered his real passion with animals. Her first non-human patient was a black Lab with a congenital deformity, but then there was a dog with multiple joint contractures on all four limbs, and Mia, an amputated dog.

Since then Derrick has traveled the world to help animals that have lost the use of one or more limbs and is dedicated to all the puppies who need them.

A wonderful job, don't you think?
