The animal, a gray wolf, was thus found in November, hanging by its hind legs on the bus stop shelter. Some kids raised the alarm on their way to school. The Coriano carabinieri and those of the Rimini forestry group removed the wolf's body and took it to the veterinary service.
The causes of death, if possible, are equally cruel. According to what emerged from the first investigations, the animal had its skull smashed due to numerous holes in the head. Whoever killed it may have used a shovel or pitchfork while the animal was caught in a trap.
Finally, the wolf was hung from the shelter, where although lifeless, his body continued to bleed when the boys discovered it.
It is possible that the animal was captured in agricultural areas near Monte Carpegna or Sasso Simone where some gray wolf males go in search of food.

According to the hypotheses, it is possible that it is a cruel revenge on the part of the breeders in the area, who have always fought the wolves. At the moment in the register of suspects it was signed up a farmer of Sardinian origins, residing in Coriano, but the possibility is not excluded that there were accomplices to help him.
Plan wolves
Today at 15 pm the State-Regions Conference should have cast the final vote on the so-called Wolves Plan but once again the vote was postponed as no agreement was found. Giovanni Toti, president of Liguria, on the sidelines of the Conference's work, said that there are conflicting opinions. Above all, controlled culls are discussed.
The wolf conservation and management plan includes conservation measures, the removal of wolves from inhabited centers and the regulation of the presence in the various territories but above all the moratorium on killing starting from 2019 is discussed. This means that for two years the animals would be safe but after 2019 their fate will not be as rosy.
