The owner, a farmer, tells her that in September the pony was trapped in a noose perhaps destined for the poaching of wild boars and thus, entangled for an entire night and beyond, by dint of pulling to free itself, it had lost its hoof, tarsus and metatarsus.
It must have been excruciating pain, an endless fright, followed by the pain of having to live in those conditions for weeks. But luckily for her, after a difficult work of convincing, the farmer finally agrees to sell it and Carolina is immediately taken to the Veterinary Clinic of Perugia, directed by Prof. Marco Pepe.
THU Her limb is surgically amputated and a prosthesis is also built. So, today Carolina, finally loved, can finally walk without too many problems. She is very lively: she plays inside her her fence (not too big for now, until she has perfectly adapted to her new condition), her fringe has grown back, she is always looking for pieces of carrots and apples. You just have to take care not to make her become overweight. She is very calm with the other animals and the prosthesis is perfect, after various modifications and adjustments.
Maura explains: "I lived the story above all as a moral duty and with the conviction that behind the suffering of any animal there is a soul that begs for help. The language of the eyes underlies a silent pain… ".
