The giant anaconda about three meters long managed to reach the other side and disappear into the surrounding woods thanks to the motorists who stopped and helped block traffic to allow the snake to cross all the lanes, remaining unharmed.
Many travelers have exited the vehicles to observe and record the extraordinary scene of the large reptile crawling on the dividing wall in the middle of the highway until it reached the vegetation on the other side.
Experts believe the reptile was looking for shelter or food. Also because in Brazil there are many natural areas devastated by intensive agriculture and urbanization, forcing different species such as snakes to search for a new habitat. Biologist Flavio Terassini told G1 Globo that the snake was probably looking for something to eat:
“These snakes can appear in the urban area in search of food, which are small rodents, and in the city they can feed on dogs and even cats, so it is good to be careful not to leave the garbage in the yard as these animals can smell rodents. or these animals and come close to the houses, especially in the rainy season “.
