Fortunately, the operators of the SeaWord marine park arrived on the spot in a short time, armed with a large net to capture it. But they weren't so surprised to see the animal in the middle of traffic. Apparently, in fact, the mammal has already been sighted several times in unlikely places and definitely far from its natural habitat, namely the ocean.
“This specimen was previously rescued by the SeaWorld Rescue Team and has a history of wandering in strange places,” said Tracy Spahr, spokesperson for SeaWorld San Diego.

This curious little guy had quite the adventure today! Our SeaWorld Rescue team responded to several calls about a sea lion on highway 94. Although we’re not sure how he managed to get there, we’re grateful for the California Highway Patrol for helping our team safety rescue him.

A few months ago the sea lion was reported near the San Diego airport and later on the Point Loma waterfront. It is not clear to the rescuers how he managed to go all that way, but above all the reasons that push him to move away from his habitat.
The animal has been lucky enough so far and it appears that it has not been hit by any vehicles. At the moment the wandering sea lion has been entrusted to the veterinarians of the SeaWord water park, who are treating a small wound to the muzzle and are working on its rehabilitation. The goal is to release it into the ocean as soon as possible. At least he will be able to return to freedom, unlike other marine animals forced to a sad existence in cramped tanks and to perform in the popular San Diego theme park ...
