Weng Xiaoping has decided to sell two of his properties to take care of abandoned cats and dogs. It happens in China. The protagonist of the story is an elderly woman now retired who has worked all her life as a doctor.
With the sale of his properties he obtained a figure corresponding to about 300 thousand euros and decided to use the sum to finance his new life mission: to help homeless dogs and cats, saving them from animal abuse.
He started the construction of a shelter for dogs and cats where he adopted and treated hundreds of foundlings. He has also hired two assistants, which he pays with his pension. To feed all the animals they need approx 50 kilos of rice per day. Every month the expenditure on food is very high, but so far everything has been fine, thanks to the help of volunteers and kind-hearted people.
In the shelter the animals are not only fed, but also cared for. It is indeed a real one sanctuary for abandoned animals. The lease contract for the land on which the structure was built has a validity of 30 years and the hope is that upon expiry the project will be carried out by competent people who want to take care of the animals. Its business takes place in the Zhejiang province.
Weng Xiaoping quickly became one of the most famous Chinese activists for the defense of animal rights. In his shelter, dogs and cats are saved from any kind of abuse and followed step by step to protect their health.
